Motion Capture Room

The MoCap room is a large space designed to allow freedom of movement for a wide range of activities, from daily living to sport. It is equipped with the latest technologies for high precision human movement analysis including:

  • Motion capture system with 14 infrared Qualisys Arqus cameras and 2 Qualisys Miqus video cameras. The system uses passive, reflective markers that are attached on the body of the participant.
  • Force plate pit instrumented with 4 moveable AMTI force plates to measure ground reaction forces.
  • NORAXON 16-channel Ultium  wireless EMG and IMU system*

Kinesiology Room

The Kinesiology room is designed with testing functional capacity and strength in mind. It includes a wide array of clinical tools coupled with the latest technology typically used in sports science research institutions.

 

  • Hand-held goniometers and inclinometers
  • Y-balance test system
  • Biodex System 4 Pro dynamometer (details, new window)
  • 2 Monark 928E ergometric exercise bikes
  • 5 Monark 828E ergometric exercise bikes
  • NORAXON 16-channel Ultium wireless EMG and IMU system*
  • Adjustable treatment table
  • Standard exercise equipment including wall rack, weights, resistance bands, pulley system and more

Treadmill Room

The treadmill room houses a state of the art instrumented treadmill capable of measuring both pressure and force during walking and running. It is coupled with a motion capture system to allow for a complete functional and biomechanical analysis.

  • Motion capture system with 10 infrared Qualisys Arqus cameras and 2 Qualisys Miqus video cameras. The system uses passive, reflective markers that are attached on the body of the participant.
  • Instrumented treadmill (Gaitway 3D) with pressure and force detection (more details, new window).
  • NORAXON 16-channel Ultium wireless EMG and IMU system*
